Admission Procedure and Eligibility

Overview

M.I.E.T. Polytechnic College welcomes aspiring students to a world of technical excellence, skill development, and career growth. The admission process is transparent, merit-based, and inclusive—ensuring that students from all backgrounds, especially educationally underserved communities, are given the opportunity to pursue quality technical education.

Eligibility Criteria

Part-Time Diploma Courses (4 Years – Evening)

  • Entry Qualification: SSLC or equivalent + Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Eligibility: Employed in Civil or Mechanical sectors with proof of employment.
  • Course Timings: Evening batches to suit working professionals.

Lateral Entry into Second Year (Direct II Year Admission)

  • Entry Qualification: Pass in +2 (HSC) with vocational subjects related to engineering / OR
  • ITI (2-year program recognized by NCVT or SCVT)
  • Duration: 2 Years (5 Semesters)

Full-Time Diploma Courses (3 Years)

  • Entry Qualification: A pass in SSLC / 10th Standard (Tamil Nadu State Board or equivalent).
  • Eligibility: No specific minimum percentage required; admissions are open to all who have passed the qualifying exam.
  • Medium of Instruction: English
  • Admission Type: Direct admission under Government norms and Management quota.

Admission Procedure

Enrollment

  • The admitted student will receive an ID number and academic schedule. Orientation will follow at the beginning of the semester.

Document Verification

  • Academic records, community certificate, ID proof, and other supporting documents are verified.

Interaction / Counseling Session

  • Students and parents may attend an informal counseling session for course guidance and college orientation.

Fee Payment & Confirmation

  • Upon selection, candidates are required to pay the initial admission fee to confirm their seat.

Issue of Application Form

  • Application forms are available at the college campus or online via the official website: [www.mietpoly.org](http://www.mietpoly.org)
  • Forms must be filled accurately and submitted along with required documents.

For Full-Time Admission:

  • SSLC / 10th Mark Sheet (Original + 3 Xerox copies)
  • Transfer Certificate (TC)
  • Community Certificate (for BC/MBC/SC/ST)
  • Aadhaar Card (Photocopy)
  • Passport size photographs – 6 Nos
  • First Graduate Certificate (if applicable)
  • Bank Passbook Copy (for scholarship)
  • Blood Group Certificate

For Lateral Entry

  • HSC / ITI Mark Sheets
  • Consolidated Mark Sheet / Provisional Certificate
  • All documents listed above for full-time admissions

Part-Time Courses

  • Employment Certificate from Employer
  • Proof of Work Experience
  • SSLC Mark Sheet and TC
  • Aadhaar and Community Certificate
  • Passport size photos – 6 Nos

Scholarship Eligibility

  • Government scholarships for SC/ST, BC, MBC, Minority categories
  • Fee concessions for meritorious and economically backward students
  • Support in applying for NGO / Trust-based scholarships
  • Aadhaar Card (Photocopy)
  • Passport size photographs – 6 Nos
  • First Graduate Certificate (if applicable)
  • Bank Passbook Copy (for scholarship)
  • Blood Group Certificate
